The Front Office Management certificate has replaced the Guest Service Agent certificate and adds three new courses to the program to enhance job opportunities for students.

Learn the ABC’s of Hospitality through SRJC’s interdisciplinary class offerings from the Agriculture, Business, and Culinary programs taught by experts in their fields. The interdisciplinary management emphasis provides students with a broad perspective of the hospitality field.

Class discussions and presentations, role playing, surveying current hospitality environments, and field trips are all part of the rich, interactive experiences in SRJC’s Hospitality courses. Students may enroll in day, evening, weekend, and online classes that are offered both on and off campus.

Hospitality: Front Office Management  16 units

 

Description:
The purpose of Front Office Management Certificate (FOM) is to educate and train students to find gainful employment as a front desk, guest service agent, and night auditor. Through classroom education and training in a simulated environment, our students will gain hands-on job experience improving the likelihood of employment and increased salary placement.

Program Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this certificate, the student will be able to:
1. Demonstrate analytical, quantitative, and computer skills necessary to work in the hospitality field.
2. Apply necessary skills required for managing the complex human interactions and communications that take place in the hospitality industry.
3. Demonstrate the ability to effectively provide customer service to clients.

Internships - Preparing For Employment

It is strongly recommended that a student not currently working in the hospitality industry complete an internship. An internship provides you with an opportunity for real-world, hands-on, pre-employment work experience and a chance to make those important employment contacts.
