Bookkeepers in Demand
Bookkeeping is one of the few careers that allow you to determine your work schedule. Once you earn a Bookkeeper Certificate you can choose when and how much you work (full time, part time or contractual) and where you work (whether in an office or from home).
Bookkeeping is especially suitable for individuals who are detail oriented, like varied assignments, enjoy working with computers and financial data, and who want to interface with diverse people in varied roles.
Among the key tasks that Bookkeeping Specialists can expect to perform are summarizing budgetary information, preparing financial statements and reports, recording daily transactions, balancing records, and processing payroll.
To gain professional experience and to complete the Bookkeeper Certificate, students will participate in an outstanding internship program in a real-life office environment. Each student receives one-on-one assistance to prepare for the internship. Student interns often find full-time employment through internships once they have earned their certificates.
