Administrative Assistant Certificate

"Administrative Professionals"

If you are a problem solver who would enjoy working at the administrative and operational heart of an organization to disseminate information, create efficient systems and procedures, and work with the public and across organizational levels, earn an Administrative Assistant Certificate to prepare for an outstanding career.

Promising Job Outlook

Because the administrative field continues to rank among the largest occupations in the U.S. economy, job opportunities for skilled Administrative Assistants are plentiful locally and nationally. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, approximately nine out of ten Administrative Assistants are employed in service-providing industries that range from education, health care, and social services to government and retail trade. Depending on experience, skills, and level of responsibility, salaries vary broadly. However, job applicants with extensive computer and software application knowledge who have earned certification typically earn higher salaries and are in high demand for employment.

Internship Opportunity

To gain professional experience and to complete the Administrative Assistant Certificate, students will participate in an outstanding internship program in a real-life office environment. Each student receives one-on-one assistance to prepare for the internship. Student interns often find full-time employment through internships once they have earned their certificates.

SRJC offers five certificates in the administrative support area, including one or two semester programs for entry-level positions and three and four semester programs to prepare student for high salaried, upper-level positions.
